Job Summary:
The Business Development Executive in the DIY wholesale lighting sector will be responsible for driving business growth through a combination of digital marketing and relationship building efforts, identifying new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships (particularly with DIY retailers, wholesalers, and distributors), and driving revenue growth through strategic market development.
Main duties and Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue.
- Identify and engage new B2B customers within the DIY retail and wholesale lighting industry (e.g. hardware chains, home improvement stores, e-commerce resellers).
- Help to manage existing accounts to ensure repeat business and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with customers, ensuring mutual benefit and profitability.
Market & Product Intelligence:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to improve product offering, packaging, and promotional strategy.
- Attend industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to build brand visibility.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build long-term relationships with decision-makers, buyers, and procurement managers.
- Deliver excellent customer service and post-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
Reporting & Forecasting:
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines and forecasts.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market feedback.
- Track KPIs including sales targets, new client acquisition, and customer satisfaction.
Skills, Qualification and Experience needed
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience (2–5 years) in preferably in lighting, electrical
- Experience working with DIY retailers, wholesalers, or trade distribution channels is a strong advantage.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Knowledge of lighting products and their technical/consumer applications is desirable.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary Rang: £40,000
